Orphaned as a teen when his parents are involved in a fatal accident, Eric Robertson is sent from the big city to a small Karoo town to live with his grandmother. Struggling to adapt and victimised by the school bully, Eric escapes to the sanctuary of the unused cellar under the old farmhouse, where he stumbles across a magical set of golf clubs that seemingly possess the ability to communicate with him. Under the expert guidance and tutelage of the clubs, each previously owned by a golfing legend, Eric learns to love and master the game, and his whimsical fun with the clubs soon progresses to serious competition. As rapidly as his success grows, however, so do the challenges. Romantic entanglements, the lure of sponsorships, and his own ego threaten to destroy his blossoming career and his special friendship with the clubs forever.
