About the Author

Debbie M Jeffries began her life overcoming challenges and obstacles, while growing up with her three brothers and sister, as her family settles in Pasadena, CA. Since birth Debbie had to fight adversity, which continued when she went to school, though she went with kids who were like her, she was always a bit behind the other kids, especially when it came to sports like baseball and other games they wanted to play. Felt like an outcast as she was separated from her group of pears. When her family moved back to Rochester NY, she continued to be placed in classes for special needs and those feelings of loneness continued. But when she received an A+ for a story she written for English, she was encouraged by her teacher to pursue Writing. Since Junior High Debbie has used her writing to get through many challenges, including raising her two sons on her own, who had limitations of their own. She continued to use her writing for therapy to get through a rough marriage and later a car accident, many of experiences she continued to have had given her insight for her debut children's book, 'Best of Friends'.
