Description

Elvish language is the language created by author J. R. R. Tolkien for his Elves, and in fact his mythology has spread to the point that the two main Tengwar languages, Quenya and Sindarin are now legally stated languages.

Primitive Quendian is the first, most primitive form of Elvish, which morphed into Quenya (aka High-elven) and was joined by Sindarin, or Grey-elven. The Quendian language is very strongly influenced by Finnish, Latin, Greek and some of the ancient Germanic languages, and Sindarin is strongly influenced by the Welsh.

Other Elvish languages have come along as products of other fictional civilizations.

While many computer fonts are available for creating the characters needed, many people want to learn how to reproduce these characters by hand.

It is the purpose of this book to give you the appropriate resources to adequately practice, and then create, these characters, so that you can write them yourself.

This book consists of three practice formats:

-the rectangular format for learning how to create each character

-a cursive-type practice page used for keeping character heights congruent, and

-calligraphy paper, used to help guide writing in decorative form

All three of these pages have a purpose in this book - to make it easier for you to learn how to write Elvish properly, whether you use the Quenyan or Sindarin - or both
