The steam-powered settlement of Crustacea houses many residents of both land and sea, including a most extraordinary young baker, Alva Periwinkle, who, with her partner, Ino, a petite sponge crab, spends her days running the busy kitchen of her mother's tearooms. With the annual festival quickly approaching and the ever-demanding popularity of the teashop, Alva must tend friendships and take to the seas to rescue a rare blue lobster from the devilish Count Sk ll, all whilst creating the most splendid of cakes and confections.
